Who determines what airs on KGEM-TV?
I have an announcement I want to air on KGEM-TV.
I am interested in being a guest on a show on KGEM-TV.
Is KGEM-TV Monrovia’s Public Access Station?
Do you provide live streaming of City Council (and other) programming?
I watched a show on KGEM-TV, but it isn’t available on the KGEM-TV website.
There is a problem with KGEM-TV.
KGEM-TV is only available on cable systems within the City of Monrovia. Currently these systems are Time Warner Cable and Champion Broadband. KGEM-TV is only available within the City of Monrovia, and is currently NOT available in the unincorporated areas of Monrovia. Please direct your interest in receiving KGEM in the unincorporated area of Monrovia to your cable operator, Charter Communications.
KGEM-TV is operated by Community Media of the Foothills, a Monrovia-based non-profit organization that has been operating cable access services in Monrovia for over 20 years. Click HERE to visit the Community Media of the Foothills website.
Community Media of the Foothills management makes determinations based on a set of guidelines and priories set by the Board of Directors. For more information see our Educational Access Policies and Procedures (PDF).
KGEM-TV runs various non-commercial Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in between programming. For information on creating a graphic PSA click HERE.
Please use our Contact section, let us know which show you are interested in appearing on.
No, KGEM-TV is Monrovia’s Educational Access Cable Station. For information on Monrovia Public Access, KMAC-TV (which is also operated by Community Media of the Foothills) click HERE.
Yes. We are currently in the testing stages of this service and how to have it perfected soon. Meetings are also posted to the webpage as they get converted and uploaded (process usually take 2-5 days).
Only select programs produced by Community Media of the Foothills are currently being posted. Much of the programs you see on KGEM-TV are owned by the various volunteers who created them. We’re planning to teach these volunteers how to put their content on the Internet too, but for the moment we’ve barely begun to experiment in doing so ourselves. Use the contact section and let us know what you’d like to see. Why? We want to know where to direct the few dollars we have and your input can help us do that effectively.
If you notice that KGEM-TV remains frozen of off the air for more than five minutes, please call us 24 hours a day at 626-357-4974 – and let the person who answers the phone know that KGEM-TV is “off the air.” We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your calls greatly. KGEM-TV has very limited staff and is therefore not monitored between 10pm and 10am M-F, after 6pm on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays.
Monrovia is the “Gem City of the Foothills” and thus Monrovia’s TV station is K“GEM”-TV.
